November 1773 Map Cha Steward Survey North East Branch Susquehanna River and Indian Village Shefhequining written on back of map case This land was purchased from the half breed Indian Nicholas Tatemy, by Judge Obadiah Gore and given to his grandsons Obadiah, and Ralph Gore. Obadiah was the father of Major Gore and Ralph was the grandfather of M. Louis Gore of Athens, The village of lower Sheshquin, where the old hotel is fronts on this Indian land. The indian name of this Gore farm is Indelelamookong, Translated as we understand means, "Indian you are welcome"... Loaned by M. Louis Gore...Property of ML Gore 1930
